The Orissa High Court will remain closed for the upcoming Durga Puja and Dussehra vacation starting Monday, October 19, 2026, with normal judicial proceedings resuming on Tuesday, October 27.

According to an official notification issued by the High Court, Friday, October 16, serves as the final working day before the festive break, as Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, mark the regular weekend closures.

Vacation Bench and Hearing Schedule

To address urgent legal matters during the festive closure, a specialized Vacation Bench has been scheduled to sit on October 23:

  • Joint Sitting: A bench comprising Justice Sasikanta Mishra and Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra will initially hold a joint sitting.
  • Individual Benches: Following the joint session, both judges will separately hear designated matters in their individual benches.

Administrative Office Timings

While judicial hearings remain suspended for most of the week, the High Court administrative office will operate under restricted hours—from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM—on October 21, 22, and 23 to manage essential administrative and filing tasks during the vacation period.
