In a massive push to create India’s cleanest electoral rolls, Odisha has achieved a remarkable 98.95% success rate in the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists, with forms distributed to over 3.30 crore voters as of June 14, 2026, evening.
According to a report from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, the ambitious drive — aimed at making the voter list more accurate, transparent, and systematic — has entered its final high-speed phase.
As many as 1.15 crore 36,537 voter forms have already been digitised, marking 34.54% progress in the crucial digitisation process.
Sundargarh District Steals the Spotlight
Western Odisha’s Sundargarh district has emerged as the clear frontrunner, becoming the first in the state to achieve 100% form distribution. Every eligible voter in the district has received their enumeration form. Even more impressive, the district has digitized 62.71% of the collected forms — far ahead of the state average.
With nearly 99% of forms now delivered across Odisha, the administration has shifted its full focus to rapid digitisation and data verification. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are working door-to-door, racing against time to meet the ambitious deadline of June 28, 2026.
What Happens Next?
Once digitisation is complete, officials will systematically remove the names of deceased persons, permanently shifted voters, and those found ineligible. The end result will be a flawless, error-free final voter list — a major step towards transparent and credible elections.
The Election Commission has directed all field officers to complete the entire process — distribution, collection, and digitisation — within the stipulated timeframe. Voters have been urged to cooperate with BLOs and submit their filled forms at the earliest.
An Urgent Appeal to Voters
Authorities have issued a strong message: those who fail to submit their enumeration forms in time risk facing verification and possible deletion of their names as per electoral rules.
Citizens are requested to treat this as a civic duty and submit forms before the June 28 deadline.
