In a significant move to connect governance with the people, Odisha’s Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, IAS, today chaired a high-level virtual review meeting with all District Collectors to finalise preparations for an ambitious statewide public outreach and awareness campaign.
The campaign will celebrate the State Government’s two-year milestone and outline the development roadmap for the next three years.
Chief Secretary Garg emphasised that the last two years have witnessed remarkable progress in central and state-sponsored schemes across multiple sectors. The upcoming programmes aim to take these achievements directly to the grassroots while gathering public feedback to refine future initiatives.
“The core objective is to reach every beneficiary, highlight how government schemes are transforming lives, and ensure even greater outreach in the coming days,” she said.
Multi-Level Mega Outreach from June 12
The campaign will roll out simultaneously at the district, block, and gram panchayat levels starting June 12.
Key highlights include:
- Three-day exhibitions on government schemes and success stories
- Theme-based discussions on “Vikashit Odisha for Vikashit Bharat”
- Field visits to major projects
- Organic farming workshops
- Interactive sessions with media and stakeholders
- Special focus on women empowerment, agriculture, rural development, health, livelihoods, drinking water, infrastructure, and social security
At the block level, week-long exhibitions will spotlight flagship schemes such as Subhadra Yojana, Lakhpati Didi, PM Surya Ghar, PM SVANidhi, rural housing, roads, bridges, and community projects. Beneficiary interaction camps, awareness drives, and service delivery camps will be organised to ensure on-the-spot benefits like Ayushman cards.
Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department officials presented detailed action plans for gram panchayat-level events, including Jaati-Jana Jati Sammelan, Krushak Sambad, and Subhadra Shakti Sammelan.
Heatwave Safety Measures Stressed
Given the prevailing intense heatwave across the state, Chief Secretary Garg directed all districts to ensure adequate drinking water, shade arrangements, and fire safety measures at every event venue to safeguard public health.
She urged seamless coordination among all departments, district officials, people’s representatives, and citizens to make the outreach programmes a grand success.
Senior Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Housing & Urban Development and Information & Public Relations, Hemant Sharma, made a detailed presentation on the campaign structure during the meeting. The meeting, held at the Conference Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan, was attended by Secretaries of various departments.
