The Odisha government has initiated preparations for the 2027 General Elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) with a door‑to‑door (D2D) survey scheduled to begin on October 26, 2026.
According to a notification from the Housing and Urban Development Department, the survey will continue until November 7, 2026. The cut‑off date for inclusion of new voters has been fixed as January 1, 2027, with the draft electoral roll to be generated on the same day and the final roll published on February 10, 2027.
In a letter to Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Executive Officers of Municipalities and NACs, Under Secretary J. Durjyodhan Patro directed officials to extend full cooperation to survey teams for timely completion of the exercise as per the State Election Commission’s schedule.
As part of preparations, a state‑level training programme for Master Trainers will be held on September 23 at the State Convention Centre, Bhubaneswar.
The survey aims to ensure an accurate and updated voter list ahead of the 2027 elections, strengthening transparency and inclusiveness in Odisha’s electoral process.
