Senior IPS officer of Odisha cadre Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, who has been serving as Superintendent of Police in Odisha’s Vigilance department, has been relieved of his duties to assume a high-ranking role in the Government of India.

As per an official notification from the Odisha Home Department, Mishra has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat on deputation.

According to the movement order issued by the Odisha Police State Headquarters in Cuttack on April 19, 2025, Mishra is expected to join his new post immediately. The appointment places him in Level 12 of the Pay Matrix, highlighting his growing responsibilities at the national level.

The notification, approved by the Director General of Police, Odisha, directs Mishra to proceed without delay in taking up his new assignment. His deputation tenure is expected to last four years, with an option for further extension based on government requirements.

Mishra’s new role as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat positions him in a crucial decision-making capacity, where he will be handling administrative affairs at the central level. His experience in vigilance operations in Odisha is likely to play a vital role in shaping strategies within his new position.
