Bhubaneswar: The State government on Tuesday urged Collectors and Municipal Commissioners to recommend names of private hospitals other than empanelled hospitals under BSKY and CGHS for the establishment of COVID-19 Vaccination Centers.
In a letter, to all District Collectors and Municipal Commissioners, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, said, “The COVID-19 vaccination of Health Care Workers, Front Line Workers and vaccination of age-appropriate group of citizens is going on smoothly in our State. The private hospitals empanelled under CGHS & BSKY have been designated as COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVC) along with Government Health Facilities to provide vaccination services.”
“To expand the number of COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVC), you are requested to verify and recommend any of the private hospitals in your district not empanelled under BSKY and CGHS which meets the following criteria for COVID-19 CVC,” read the letter.
1. Sufficient Cold Chain equipment and capacity
2. Sufficient rooms/space for waiting area, vaccination and observation post-vaccination.
3. Sufficient number of trained vaccinators and verifiers
4. Ability to manage the Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI), as per the norms and guidelines of the Ministry.
The Collectors and Municipal Commissioners have been asked to assess the feasibility of such private hospitals to be declared as COVID-19 vaccination Centre and submit the proposal for the same as soon as possible.
