Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed all private aided and un-aided schools to reduce
fees in the wake of the pandemic during the academic session 2020-21.
According to the notification of the School and Mass Education (SME) department, the schools who had signed the MoU can collect the fees as per applicable relaxations, while remaining schools are to give a fee waiver of 15 percent.
Schools that have signed an MoU to follow the Orissa High Court order and implement the waiver as per the agreed terms mentioned in its notification dated 19.01.2021, the notification read.
For those parents who have already paid the full school fees, the fees paid by them will be adjusted in the subsequent installments by the school management authorities, the notification further read.
In the light of the recent judgment by the Supreme Court of India on the reduction of school fees in the wake of the pandemic during the academic session 2020-21 the School and Mass Education department has also directed all stakeholders including various Parents Associations and School Management Authorities.
