According to the forecast, winds with speeds of 50–60 kmph are expected over the Bay of Bengal, posing risks to fishing vessels and coastal activities.
Authorities have directed fishermen already at sea to return to shore by the evening of September 21. The advisory highlights the dangers of rough sea conditions and emphasises strict compliance to prevent accidents.
Police and disaster management teams are on alert, with coastal districts instructed to monitor compliance and ensure safety measures.
The advisory comes as Odisha braces for heavy rainfall and strong winds linked to the low‑pressure system, reinforcing the need for precautionary steps along the coastline.
