Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP), Abhay on Wednesday visited the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, and Nuapada to review enforcement of COVID-19 measures by the administrations.
The DGP arrived at Bolangir Reserve Police Ground at Mohanpur in a special helicopter. He reviewed the ongoing enforcement drive and implementation of night curfew, weekend shutdown, functioning of border check posts, and preparedness to ramp up Police assistance further to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
During his tour to Balangir district, DGP visited Town and Sadar PS and interacted with policemen deployed there and verified their well-being and operational matters. He felicitated the officers in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order and for good investigation. IGP Pers, DIG SIW, DIG SWR, SP Kalahandi attended the review.
The Odisha DGP also visited Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district. and reviewed enforcement of COVID measures and night curfew. The DGP also reviewed actions against mask usage and social distancing rules.
DGP also reviewed the sealing arrangement at Sindhi Kaliari Chhak on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. The border checkpoint has been established to check interstate movement. Two platoons force has been deployed for COVID enforcement duty in the district.
