Angul: Odisha Police DG Abhay visited Angul today and reviewed COVID-19 enforcement measures in the district by the police to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The DGP commended Angul Police for strict enforcement of lockdown, weekend shutdown and night curfew across the district and preparedness to tackle untoward situations.
From April 1, the Covid Enforcement Team of Angul Police has collected fines to the tune of Rs 19.77 lakh from 6708 persons caught without wearing masks. Similarly, 130 shops were sealed and 545 vehicles were seized for flouting COVID and lockdown norms.
The Odisha DGP highly praised Anugul Police for the selfless dedication in fighting COVID-19 pandemic. He further appealed to the people of Angul to abide by the norms.
DGP Abhay then went to the police training center here and talked to the sub-inspectors and the trainers and inquired about their health condition.
