Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited Kendrapara today to review ongoing development projects and assess their progress.

The review meeting highlighted significant upcoming initiatives for the development of water resources and industries in Kendrapara district. Efforts will be made to expand the Hental forest and boost eco-tourism activities in areas like Bhitarkanika and Gahirmatha. Several new projects are set to be inaugurated soon, including the establishment of a medical college in Kendrapara and a temple circumambulation project dedicated to Lord Baladevjew. Discussions have taken place between legislators and administrative officials regarding these initiatives.

During the meeting, the district collector and other relevant authorities provided updates on ongoing departmental activities and addressed questions about the progress of various projects. Officials were instructed to identify and rectify delays in execution.

The Chief Minister discussed various aspects with the district administration, including forest conservation, tourism, rural development, roads, transportation, health, education, irrigation, women empowerment, agriculture, and industrial growth. He commended the pace of project implementation and urged further advancements.

Key developmental efforts in the district mentioned included canal construction, road expansion, improvements to the drinking water supply, and strengthening the education and healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, significant progress has been made in welfare schemes, such as public hearings, pension distributions, inspections by senior officials and ministers, midday meal schemes, and mission empowerment programs.

Kendrapara district has secured second place in Odisha under the Subhadra and Lakhpati Didi schemes, receiving special recognition from the Chief Minister.

Strict measures were directed against illegal Bangladeshi infiltration, sand smuggling, law enforcement challenges, and workforce shortages in government departments. The Chief Minister emphasised the goal of making Kendrapara an exemplary district in the future, focusing on industrial expansion, tourism growth, and renewable energy projects. A comprehensive development plan is expected to be presented within the next month.

Before the meeting, the Chief Minister participated in a tricolour procession from Mausima Temple to Shri Baladevjew Temple, reinforcing the national commitment to women’s dignity and safety. He later offered prayers at the temple and inaugurated district agriculture and revenue campaign vehicles.

The review meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including MLAs Pratap Keshari Deb, Ganeswar Behera, Dr. Durga Prasan Nayak, Dhruba Charan Sahoo, and Arvind Mohapatra, as well as District Council Chairperson Lilita Das, District Collector Smruti Ranjan Pradhan, and Police Superintendent Siddharth Kataria, among others.
