Highlighting long-standing bonds of friendship and cultural heritage, His Excellency Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.
Welcoming President Pezeshkian on his first-ever official visit to India, President Murmu expressed deep appreciation for Iran’s steadfast support throughout India’s current BRICS presidency. The historic meeting served as a platform for both leaders to review bilateral cooperation and celebrate the profound people-to-people connections bridging the two nations.
Amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, President Murmu firmly reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to achieving enduring regional peace, emphasising that all conflicts must be resolved exclusively through constructive dialogue and active diplomacy.
