Odisha CM Dedicates 73 Ama Hospitals in 15 Dists

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Saturday dedicated 5T transformation of 73 Government hospitals and 5 Sub-Divisional Dialysis Centers across 15 districts under the ‘Ama Hospital’ initiative to provide patient-centric and quality healthcare services to the people of Odisha

The Chief Minister also launched the Patient Feedback System through IVRS & Biometric Attendance System through facial recognition software.

A total of 73 ‘5T’ transformed government hospitals under the ‘Ama Hospital’ initiative unveiled today include 5 in Bargarh, 7 in Sundergarh, 4 in Sambalpur, 4 in Dhenkanal, 6 in Keonjhar, 2 in Jharsuguda, 4 in Jagatsinghpur, 5 in Kendrapada, 9 in Mayurbhanj, 13 in Ganjam, 4 in Kalahandi, 4 in Rayagada, 4 in Nuapada, 2 in Malkangari and 3 in Kandhamal.

Also, the Chief Minister inaugurated 5 new sub-divisional dialysis centres built in Mayurbhanj’s Karanjia sub-divisional hospital, Sambalpur’s Kuchinda sub-divisional hospital, Ganjam Hinjilikatu sub-divisional hospital, Nuapada Khariar sub-divisional hospital and Padmapur sub-divisional hospital in Bargarh.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that all the arrangements in ‘AMA Hospital’ have been made keeping in mind the convenience of the people. The main objective of this program is to provide patients with better medical facilities. The Chief Minister said that Ama Hospitals will usher in a new era of healthcare in the state.

He further said that ‘Ama Hospital’ will further brighten the picture of transformation in the healthcare sector. In the next 5 years, 1,858 hospitals are targeted to be included in this program and for this purpose more than Rs 3300 crore have been allocated during 2023-28 while the transformation work of 149 Ama Hospitals is currently underway in different parts of the state.

The Odisha CM interacted with people from different districts, who in turn expressed their happiness to get all health facilities at their doorstep.

In the program, State Health and Family Welfare Minister Niranjan Pujari said that the Chief Minister today launched the ‘Ama Hospital’ scheme to align government hospitals with private sector hospitals.

The program was coordinated by 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian. Health Secretary Smt Shalini Pandit gave the welcome speech and Dr Niranjan Mishra, Director of Public Health, gave the vote of thanks.
