Odisha Legislative Assembly on Monday adopted the expenditure demands of 23 departments through guillotine.
During the second phase of the Budget Session, demands from 20 departments were discussed and passed. However, the remaining 23 departments—including Law, Finance, Commerce, Sports, Urban Development, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Forest, Excise, and others—were approved without debate.
Speaker Surama Padhy exercised the guillotine procedure to finalise the demands. The proposal was moved in the House by Saroj Pradhan, Chief Whip of the ruling party.
