A high-level review meeting was held today at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to assess the progress of the Pandit Godabarish Mishra Model Primary School Project, which has been launched across the state.
The meeting discussed key aspects including site identification for the schools, the architectural design of the school buildings, and the required cost estimates.
The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate the construction work of all schools where foundation stones have already been laid. Looking ahead, he emphasized the need to increase the number of classrooms in these schools to meet future requirements.
Majhi instructed that accurate and realistic cost estimates should be prepared in the initial phase for the construction of each school. He assured that additional funds would be provided as per the actual needs of the projects.
Highlighting that children studying in primary schools are very young, the Chief Minister directed that adequate provisions for play and recreational facilities should be incorporated into the project, along with academic infrastructure, to support their overall development.
The meeting was attended by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner D.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Saswata Mishra, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Sanjeev Mishra, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of School and Mass Education Department Dr. N. Tirumala Naik, Additional Secretary to Chief Minister Anupam Saha, and OSEPA Director Ananya Das, among others.
