In view of the low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal–North Odisha coasts, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Housing & Urban Development Department, Smt. Usha Padhee has directed all urban authorities to remain on high alert and ensure prompt, coordinated, and citizen-centric response to any emerging situation.
The ACS instructed officials to keep personnel, machinery, and equipment in full readiness, with rapid response teams active in the field. She emphasised that issues reported from the ground must be addressed immediately and on priority, focusing on minimising inconvenience to citizens.
As a confidence-building measure, Smt. Padhee urged urban authorities to communicate preparedness and field actions through press briefs and social media updates, keeping the Department informed of all developments.
She further advised officials to seek assistance from the Department and District Administration when required, ensuring close inter-agency coordination for effective ground-level response.
