Odisha Vigilance today apprehended Sitakanta Rana, Principal of Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya (OAV), Th. Rampur in Kalahandi district, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a Self‑Help Group (SHG) functionary to facilitate the release of pending bills for cleaning works.
According to Vigilance sources, the complainant had been requesting clearance of three months’ bills for the current financial year 2026‑27. A team of Odisha Vigilance caught Rana red‑handed while accepting the bribe amount. The entire tainted money of ₹10,000 was recovered from his possession and seized as evidence.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at two locations linked to the accused from the disproportionate‑assets angle.
