The festive fervor of Durga Puja is at its peak across the capital city and the entire state, with Maha Ashtami being celebrated with immense grandeur and devotion.
On this auspicious day, Goddess Durga manifested in her serene and radiant Mahagauri form, drawing an overwhelming multitude of devotees to various puja mandaps and shakti peethas to catch a glimpse of her divine presence.
The city is currently illuminated with brilliant light displays, while resonant chants and the rhythmic sounds of dhaki beats fill the spiritual atmosphere. From early morning, devotees lined up patiently in large numbers to offer their prayers and pushpanjali at different mandaps. Special rituals, Chandi path, and the lighting of maha deeps marked the day’s celebrations, alongside elaborate preparations for the crucial Sandhi Puja, scheduled for the transition period between Ashtami and Navami.
