A shocking incident has surfaced in Daspalla police limits where a nine‑year‑old minor girl was allegedly raped by a man from Itamati.
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s family, the accused lured the child to the roof of a house in Bhoisahi village and committed the crime.
Villagers, upon learning of the incident, immediately alerted police and handed over the accused. The police brought both the survivor and the accused to the station, recorded the girl’s statement, and conducted a medical examination at the local community health centre.
Given the sensitivity of the case, officials confirmed that a senior police officer will lead the investigation. The victim belongs to a Dalit family, making the incident even more serious in terms of social implications.
