A major road accident was averted on Tuesday near the historic Dhauli Hills in Odisha’s capital city, when a tourist vehicle lost control and overturned on the roadside, leaving several passengers injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was ferrying tourists toward the scenic Dhauli Hill when it suddenly veered off course. Panic ensued as the car flipped, prompting immediate cries for help from the trapped passengers inside.
Showing exemplary civic duty, local residents and passersby rushed to the scene without a moment’s hesitation, launching initial rescue efforts and comforting the terrified tourists.
Upon receiving information about the mishap, a team of officers from the Dhauli police station swiftly arrived at the site. Working hand-in-hand with the local volunteers, police successfully extricated all the trapped passengers from the mangled vehicle. The injured individuals were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulances and police vehicles for urgent medical treatment.
Preliminary assessments suggest everyone is currently receiving necessary care. The Dhauli police have launched a formal investigation to determine whether the crash was caused by a sudden mechanical failure or driver fatigue/loss of control.
