The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) confirmed that nine ornaments of Lord Jagannath were counted and verified today as part of the ongoing Ratnalankar audit inside the temple treasury.
Chief Administrator Dr Arabinda Padhee said the counting matched the 1978 inventory list, marking a significant milestone in the temple’s meticulous record‑keeping process.
The audit covered three major ornaments — the gem‑studded Chita, Shua Thantia, and Rupa Rasika. Officials conducted detailed weight measurement, videography, photography, and 3D mapping to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Dr Padhee stated, “The ornaments used during Snana Purnima have been counted and handed over to the Bhandar Mekap for safekeeping.” He added that one set of Jhoba remains with the Lord on the Sri Anga, while another set is held by the Bhundar Mekap.
The administration described the process as smooth and successful, reaffirming the temple’s commitment to preserving its priceless heritage.
