In a confident press briefing, Mitchell Santner, the captain of the New Zealand cricket team, stated that there will be no major changes to their strategy as they face South Africa in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-finals.

Despite a recent loss to India, Santner believes in the team’s approach and sees no need to alter their game plan.

“Our primary goal was to reach the semi-finals, and we’ve accomplished that,” Santner remarked ahead of the high-stakes match in Lahore. “We’ve had good preparation, and we’ve played well. So, I don’t think anything has to change.”

Acknowledging the formidable strength of the South African team, Santner is prepared for a challenging match but remains confident in his squad’s ability to perform. He also commented on the pitch conditions in Lahore, expecting more pace and bounce, which he believes will suit their fast bowlers.

“We’ll see how the conditions shape up, but I’m confident that we have the squad to adapt if needed,” Santner added.

New Zealand secured their spot in the semi-finals with strong performances against Pakistan and Bangladesh, finishing as the second-ranked team in their group. Meanwhile, South Africa topped Group B, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter.

Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting match as New Zealand and South Africa vie for a place in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final.
