Basta: A mother-daughter duo was killed in a road mishap on NH-60 under Basta police station in Balasore district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Muni Tudu (50) and her daughter Shanti Tudu (12).
According to reports, the incident took place when a speeding oil tanker, en route to Ganjam from Kolkata, lost control over the wheels and crushed the woman and her daughter, killing them on the spot.
On being informed, police reached the spot oil tanker. The cops have also sent the body for post mortem. Further investigations are underway.
