Padia: The local administration here is allegedly not taking any action against the Kendu Leaf contractors and businessmen who are engaging child labourers in the work.
As many as 10 child labourers were engaged in the job, sources said.
Reports said a number of children were engaged in Kendu leaf collection centres at Sangel village under Podia block.
It is alleged that the contractors and the businessmen concerned are not caring for the guidelines laid down by the government as far as child labour Act is concerned.
Sources said the minors are engaged in counting Kendu leaves and stacking for which they are paid only a paltry.
