A minor girl was found hanging inside the house in Mahakhand village under Turekela police limits in Bolangir district on Saturday.
The girl committed suicide by tying a saree around her neck inside her house.
The family members found the girl hanging in her house. The girl was rescued and taken to a local hospital for treatment, the doctor declared her dead. The reason for the death is yet to be ascertained. Turkela police reached the spot and seized the body.
A case of unnatural death was registered at the police station. The body was taken to Kantabanji Hospital for autopsy and was handed over to the family, said Police Station Officer Ramakanta Sahu.
