Bhubaneswar: A meeting with Bankers was held at State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) Conference hall to provide livelihood opportunities for Urban Street Vendors through financial inclusion
The meeting was chaired by Sarada Prasad Panda, Director SUDA & Joint Secretary to Govt. Goutam Patra, GM & Convener SLBC, AO, SUDA, Dy . Commissioner BMC, SMMU, and SUDA along with around 40 Regional Heads from different banks joined the meeting.
There was a detailed discussion on how to speed up Socio-Economic Profiling across targeted ULBs for the inclusion of Street Vendors under various Social Welfare programmes of Govt. All Bankers agreed to work together as a team in coordination with BMC & other ULB officials to bring about drastic improvement in the likelihood of the street vendors with financial support under various schemes of the Government as well as under PM SVA Nidhi. Bank Partners are imperative to be aligned timely with various pro-poor initiatives for timely facilitation and in a journey of uplifting the urban poor and transforming their lives. Around 32,000 pending cases of PM SVA Nidhi Loans were discussed in detail and cleared the same early. There was also a discussion on how to speed up Socio-Economic Profiling across targeted ULBs for the inclusion of Street Vendors under various Social Welfare programmes of Govt. All Bankers agreed to work together on this front.
Remarkably during COVID Pandemic our Banking partners were very helpful in timely releasing the financial assistance to street vendors to secure their economy and livelihood .206709 Street Vendors were facilitated with @3000 each in three phases immediately after the announcement of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
