A major fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, June 23, on the set of the popular television show Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly, at Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai. The blaze erupted around 5:00 AM, just two hours before the scheduled start of filming, and completely gutted the set.
According to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire was brought under control after several hours of firefighting efforts. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported. The fire brigade received an emergency call at 6:00 AM, following which multiple fire engines were dispatched to the location.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, in the aftermath, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has issued a strong statement demanding an FIR be filed against the production house and the television channel responsible for the show. The association has raised concerns over alleged lapses in fire safety measures on set.
