In a major initiative toward eradicating social evils and safeguarding young girls, the Urban Police District (UPD), Bhubaneswar, organised an impactful awareness program titled ‘JUVENTICA’ at the Jatni Police Station premises today.
Grounded in the theme “End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights,” the event aimed to educate youth, strengthen community action, and advocate for an equal, safe environment for young girls to pursue their dreams.
Empowering the Next Generation
The program brought together school and college students to reflect on the severe social and health repercussions of child marriage. Through interactive sessions, organisers stressed gender equality, child rights, and the crucial need for girls’ empowerment.
“Child marriage is a social malady that robs young girls of their rights to education, health, freedom, and future opportunities. Investing in a girl’s education and safety is the cornerstone of a balanced and empowered society,” highlighted the speakers during the event.
Interactive Learning and Community Action
To deeply connect with the young audience, the event featured engaging plays, educational messages, and dynamic activities. Students were encouraged to actively speak out against child marriage and act as change-makers in their communities.
