South Africa has announced their 20-member squad for a training camp ahead of the upcoming tri-nation series featuring India and Sri Lanka, set to begin later this month.
The team has decided to rest seasoned all-rounder Marizanne Kapp, who has played an instrumental role in the team’s successes in recent years. This move comes as part of the preparations for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be held later this year in India.
The week-long camp, from April 6–14, features three promising newcomers: Karabo Meso, Miane Smit, and Seshnie Naidu. According to head coach Mandla Mashimbyi, the focus will be on improving skill development, running between wickets, and fostering a strong team culture.
South Africa’s squad, led by Laura Wolvaardt, is expected to showcase its depth in the upcoming series, with matches scheduled at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. The tri-nation series promises to be a highly competitive affair as all three teams vie for momentum ahead of the World Cup.
