Angul: A man died after being attacked by an elephant at Baijhalia Sahi under Gadasani Panchayat of Banrapal Block in Angul district on Tuesday morning.
According to information, the victim, Bida Bhoi (52) of Baijhalia Sahi,  had gone to attend nature’s call this morning when the elephant attacked him killing him on the spot.
After getting information from the family and local people, the forest department personnel reached the scene and started an investigation.
Later, Banrapal police also reached the village as palpable tension prevailed following the death of the man in elephant attack.
The villagers have demanded compensation for the family of the deceased man, sources said.
