Loot In Mo Bus: Seven Arrested; Rs 57K, Mobile Phones Recovered

Bhubaneswar: Police here have arrested seven persons for their alleged involvement in the loot in Mo Bus.  Rs 57,000 in cash and nine cell phones have also been recovered from the possession of the accused persons, informed the police.

According to police, the looter gang used to target passengers of crowded buses. The gang used to board the city bus from Baramunda to Cuttack. During the travel, they targeted passengers and looted cash and valuables from them.

The accused persons usually gather around a passenger, then steal his/ her valuables and then deboard the vehicle, mentioned the senior official in a press meet.

Several cases are pending against the accused at various police stations in Bhubaneswar, added the official.

Notably, on December 12, Rs 42,000 was robbed from one Biranchi Narayan Sethi in the bus. Following this, the victim lodged a complaint with the Nayapalli police.
