A man was killed after his wife allegedly struck him on the head with a wooden plank during a domestic quarrel in Bankapatuli Munda Sahi under Dhenkikote outpost of Ghatagaon police station limits, police said.
According to officials, Anand Munda had consumed alcohol on Tuesday night and got into an argument with his wife Jatri Munda. In a fit of rage, Jatri reportedly hit her husband on the head, causing severe injuries.
Hearing his screams, neighbours rushed Anand to the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police seized the body and sent it for post‑mortem examination, while Jatri was arrested soon after the incident.
Sources said Jatri is the second wife of the deceased. Investigators are probing the circumstances that led to the fatal altercation and have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC.
The incident has shocked residents of the area, highlighting the tragic consequences of domestic violence and alcohol‑related disputes.
