India’s golden surge at the Commonwealth Games 2026 continued as Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria delivered back‑to‑back gold medals in boxing, scripting a historic chapter for Indian women’s sport.

Preeti Pawar opened India’s account by defeating Canada’s Scarlett Savannah Delgado in the women’s 54 kg final with a dominant 5‑0 unanimous decision. Moments later, Jaismine Lamboria outclassed Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh in the women’s 57 kg final, also winning 5‑0.

Both boxers showcased precision, composure, and tactical brilliance against seasoned opponents. Their victories not only secured India’s first two boxing golds of the Games but also strengthened the nation’s medal tally, keeping hopes alive for up to 10 gold medals in boxing.

Preeti, 24, from Haryana, had earlier won an Olympic quota at the Asian Games and continues to rise as one of India’s brightest boxing talents. Jaismine, also 24, upgraded her 2022 CWG bronze to gold, reaffirming her dominance after winning consecutive national titles.

Their twin triumphs made Saturday one of India’s most memorable days at CWG 2026, underscoring the growing strength of Indian women’s boxing.
