Commuters and local authorities face renewed concern as a fresh landslide hit the strategic Kalinga Ghati stretch near Andharikota.
Massive rock boulders rolled down the hillsides onto the arterial road, severely disrupting vehicle movement along the key passage connecting Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.
The incident occurred while repair and restoration work from a previous landslide on the stretch was still underway. Local commuters expressed concern over recurring rockfalls along the narrow hilly terrain, which routinely threaten safety and stall essential transportation.
Administrative teams and clearance machinery have been deployed to clear the debris and restore safe passage. Authorities have advised travellers to exercise extreme caution while navigating the hilly corridor as precautionary measures remain active.
