The ICMR–National Institute of Health Research (ICMR-NIHR), Bhubaneswar, will host the Regional ADOPT Sensitisation Meeting on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for Eastern India on Oct 30, 2026, at Hotel Novotel, Bhubaneswar.
Centred around the theme “Evidence to Policy. Policy to Practice,” the conference aims to integrate scientific evidence into health policy formulation and programme implementation across the region.
The event will convene policymakers, senior health administrators, and researchers from Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh, alongside officials from the Department of Health Research (DHR) and the Health Technology Assessment in India (HTAIn) initiative.
Health Technology Assessment provides an evidence-based approach to evaluating the clinical, economic, and social impacts of health interventions to optimize resource allocation.
Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, will deliver the inaugural address and officially launch a Compendium along with the new HTAIn-ADOPT Centre at ICMR-NIHR, Bhubaneswar.
The inauguration will take place in the presence of Manisha Saxena, Joint Secretary, DHR, and Dr Sanghamitra Pati, Director, ICMR-NIHR Bhubaneswar.
The sessions will cover HTA applications in maternal and child health, regional experiences like Odisha’s DaMAN project, and health benefit package revisions.
An interactive exercise will allow state representatives to evaluate and rank compendium research studies based on their state-specific public health priorities, reinforcing evidence-informed decision-making across Eastern India.
