In view of the ongoing heavy rainfall and grim flood situation, the district administrations of Ganjam and Gajapati have announced an extension of holidays for educational institutions.

According to an official order issued by the Collector and District Magistrate of Ganjam, all Anganwadi centres, schools, degree colleges, technical institutions, and university departments functioning within the district will remain closed up to October 31, 2026. The order emphasises that all concerned heads of institutions must ensure strict compliance with immediate effect. Copies of the directive have also been forwarded to registrars of universities, principals, and the District Education Officer for necessary action.

Similarly, the administration in neighbouring Gajapati district has extended school holidays for another two days due to incessant rains. Having previously declared closures up to October 29, schools in the district have remained shut following the Durga Puja vacation as adverse weather conditions continue to disrupt normal life.

Parents and students have been advised to stay updated through local administrative announcements as safety measures remain a top priority for the district authorities.
