A joint inter-state operation by Odisha and Chhattisgarh police and CPF jawans has been launched in the border areas of Nuapada district of Odisha and Gariabandh district of Chhattisgarh.
It is worth mentioning that since the night of the 19th, intelligence inputs were received about the presence of a large number of Maoists hiding in the Kulari Ghat reserved forest of Chhattisgarh, just 5 km from the border of Nuapada district of Odisha.
Accordingly, the central security forces along with the security forces of both the states have launched this joint operation. The exchange of fire from both sides has been going on since this morning.
