Bhubaneswar: Rescue operation is underway to ascertain if any more persons are being trapped inside the rubble as a result of the derailment of a goods train at Jajpur’s Korai station in Bhadrak-Kapilas Road Railway Section under Khurda Road Railway Division of East Coast Railway today morning.
The East Coast Railway has issued emergency helpline numbers. They are 8455889905; 8455887864; 8455887862 at Korai Station, 0674-2534027 at Bhubaneswar, and 0674-2492245 at Control Room, Khurda Road.
Notably, the goods train derailed and rammed into the waiting hall at the railway station. Two women died in the mishap while several others were injured. All the injured have been shifted to the district headquarters hospital.
