A shocking incident has sparked outrage in Tungaon village under Koksara block after an 11‑month‑old baby, initially declared dead by doctors, was later found alive while being taken home by her family.
Tragically, the infant, Chandini Patel, daughter of Sanjay Patel, succumbed soon after, intensifying allegations of medical negligence.
According to reports, Chandini was first taken to the Koksara Community Health Centre (CHC) and later referred to Saheed Rendo Majhi Medical College and Hospital (SRMMCH) in Bhawanipatna as her condition worsened. The family alleged that doctors at SRMMCH declared her dead without a thorough examination.
While returning home, relatives noticed signs of life in the child, sparking panic and raising serious questions about the medical assessment. Despite renewed efforts, Chandini later died, leaving the family devastated.
The bereaved family accused the doctors of negligence, claiming the infant was prematurely declared dead without proper evaluation. The incident has triggered public anger, with locals demanding accountability and highlighting concerns over healthcare standards in the district.
