Leader of Opposition and BJD President Naveen Patnaik has demanded a thorough debate in Parliament over the alleged examination paper leaks, warning that the issue strikes at the very foundation of India’s education system.
In a post on X, Naveen stressed that education remains the only path to a brighter future for millions of children. He said every developed nation is built on a strong education system and a transparent, credible examination process, which has also enabled India’s progress by nurturing generations of professionals and innovators.
“Today, however, trust in this system stands broken. The damage goes far beyond a failed exam. It shatters faith in the very foundation of the education system. A nation that compromises the integrity of its examination system compromises its own future,” Naveen stated.
Calling the matter a grave issue affecting millions of students, he urged Parliament to prioritise a debate that leads to concrete reforms ensuring paper leaks and systemic failures are never repeated. He emphasised accountability and urged the government to engage in meaningful dialogue with students who have been peacefully protesting.
“The children and young people of India are looking to us for leadership. We cannot fail them,” Naveen said, adding that sincere dialogue with youth protestors will help restore faith in democracy, education, and leadership. The BJD President affirmed his party’s solidarity with students across the country.
