“India Will Respond”: Congress Leader Warns Pakistan After Drone Sightings Near Border

Congress leader and senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Friday issued a strong warning to Pakistan following reports of multiple drones being spotted near the India–Pakistan border, calling the incidents a deliberate act rather than an isolated occurrence.

Reacting to the reports, Singhvi said the sightings indicate a return to Pakistan’s earlier tactics. “Pakistan is back to its old playbook. Drones spotted again across Jammu and Kashmir just days after #OperationSindoor,” he said in a post on social media platform X, referring to India’s military operation against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan in May 2025.

He further cautioned that the developments should not be taken lightly. “This is not provocation by accident, but hostility by design. India is watching. And India will respond!” Singhvi added.

His remarks came amid heightened security along India’s western border following several reports of suspicious drone activity in Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Rajasthan.

Earlier this week, a drone was spotted flying over a gas-based thermal power plant in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district, close to the international border. According to eyewitnesses, the drone was first noticed around 10 pm and continued to hover in the area for nearly an hour.

Confirming the incident, Ramgarh police station in-charge Bhutaram Bishnoi said an investigation is underway. He added that drone flying in the district is strictly prohibited without prior official permission.

In a separate development, defence sources told ANI that two additional drone sightings were reported in the Jammu sector. “Counter-unmanned aerial system (UAS) measures were resorted to by the Indian Army,” the sources said, indicating swift security action.

Residents living near the border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district also reported being on high alert after several suspected Pakistani drones were sighted over the past few days. According to reports, the first sighting occurred earlier this week, followed by another the next day.

Security was further tightened in the Samba district after drones were reportedly spotted along the Line of Control in the Naushera–Rajouri sector late Sunday night, prompting increased surveillance and vigilance by security forces.
