A disturbing incident has surfaced in the Basudevpur block of Bhadrak district, where a Hindi teacher allegedly misbehaved with a Class VII girl student.
The complaint was lodged at the Kasia Samudrik police station by the victim’s family.
According to the family, the teacher had previously attempted similar misconduct. On Friday, while the girl was in the school hostel, the teacher allegedly repeated the act. To escape, the student fled to a nearby village and sought shelter with an elderly woman around 5 a.m. on Saturday.
Following the complaint, police detained the teacher for questioning. The accused claimed he was being framed and defamed. Police have yet to issue an official statement.
The incident occurred at a Navodaya school in the Basudevpur block. Just three days earlier, another case of misconduct involving a teacher and a Class VIII student in the same block had sparked protests by students and parents, who demanded strict action.
