Selena Gomez recreated Monroe’s iconic “skirt moving from the wind” pose that had once sold out immediately after appearing in magazines, on the red carpet of the Golden Globes this year.

Over the last couple of decades, a lot of famous stars have had a Marilyn Monroe moment in public, whether that was what has been called on the internet as “unintentional or not”. However, social media users are calling Selena’s moment  “truly iconic” and agree that this is a rather befitting homage to Queen Monroe.

Selena posed for the paparazzi on the red carpet in a stunning red Giorgio Armani dress which featured a black lace belt on the mid-riff and bold black flowers to amp up the already magnificent design. The asymmetrical cut of the ensemble along with the cut-out feature on the neckline truly added to the drama of the event and looked wonderful on the singer. As many on social media confessed, “Red is Selena’s colour, that’s it.”

The thirty-one-year-old singer accessorised the look with the help of some stellar pieces of diamond jewellery.

In terms of makeup, she kept it very easy-breezy as she went ahead with a dewy makeup base, shimmery yet subtle eyeshadow and a nude lip shade. The mascara-laden eyes looked perfect and Selena who is also a makeup mogul shared a small “Get ready with me” video where she was seen using a body lotion from her brand Rare Beauty while getting ready for the awards ceremony.
