Tension gripped Bihar’s capital after shots were reportedly fired outside the coaching institute run by popular educator and YouTuber Khan Sir, leaving a security guard injured and triggering protests by students.
The incident, which occurred near Musallahpur Haat in Patna, has sparked a major controversy after Khan Sir alleged that individuals linked to a nearby coaching institute may have been involved. Police have launched an investigation and are examining evidence, including CCTV footage.
Security Guard Injured In Firing Incident
According to police officials, a security guard posted outside the coaching centre sustained injuries during the incident and is currently undergoing treatment.
Patna City Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma said authorities are recording statements from the injured guard and local witnesses to determine the sequence of events.
The exact motive behind the firing remains under investigation.
Khan Sir Alleges Threats From Nearby Coaching Institute
Reacting to the incident, Khan Sir claimed that his institute had received threats in the past and alleged that a nearby coaching centre could be linked to the attack.
“Our security guard has identified the people involved. We need protection, and this is a matter for the administration to handle,” Khan Sir said while speaking to reporters.
He further alleged that individuals associated with the neighbouring coaching institute had previously issued threats against his organisation.
However, police have not officially confirmed any connection between the alleged attackers and any coaching institute.
Student Protests Erupt In Patna
A day after the incident, hundreds of students gathered outside the coaching centre demanding action against those responsible.
The protest prompted authorities to deploy additional police personnel in the area to maintain law and order.
Students expressed concern over safety around educational institutions and called for stronger security arrangements.
CCTV Footage Shows Stone Pelting And Vandalism
The controversy intensified after CCTV footage from the area surfaced online.
The visuals reportedly show unidentified individuals pelting stones and damaging banners outside the coaching institute. Khan Sir claimed that the footage has been submitted to police investigators.
Authorities are currently examining the video as part of the investigation.
Khan Sir Raises Concern Over Affordable Education
Speaking after the incident, Khan Sir suggested that the popularity of his institute and its affordable fee structure may have upset competitors.
He stated that his coaching centre has been helping students from economically weaker backgrounds access quality education at low cost.
“We appeal to the administration to ensure security because poor students also deserve quality education,” he said.
Investigation Underway
Police officials have not yet identified the attackers or established a motive behind the firing.
Investigators are collecting evidence, analysing CCTV footage and recording witness statements. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible.
The incident has once again brought attention to the intense competition among coaching institutes in major education hubs and raised concerns about student safety in such environments.
For now, security has been heightened around the coaching centre as the investigation continues.
