BTS has strengthened its position as one of the world’s biggest touring acts, setting major attendance and revenue records at several US NFL stadiums with its ongoing ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’’.
According to concert revenue rankings for 30 NFL stadiums released by Billboard on September 9, BTS recorded the highest-grossing events at several major US venues, competing with global stars including Beyoncé and country music legend George Strait.
BTS breaks records at major US stadiums
In May, BTS held four concerts at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, generating $49.5 million in ticket sales and attracting around 246,000 attendees.
The shows became the highest-grossing event in the stadium’s history. BTS also occupied the second spot with its 2022 concert at the same venue, giving the group the top two positions on the list.
BTS also set the highest revenue records at three other major stadiums.
At Gillette Stadium, the group generated $28.7 million, while its shows at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore brought in $27.6 million.
At Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, BTS generated $40.7 million, another venue record.
At MetLife Stadium in New York, BTS ranked third with revenue of $31.8 million.
BTS tops global touring charts
The group’s success extends beyond individual stadium records.
According to Pollstar’s Live75 and Global Concert Pulse charts, BTS currently sits at No. 1 on both rankings.
On the Live75 chart, which ranks tours according to average ticket sales per show, BTS sold an average of 72,004 tickets per concert. The figure put the group ahead of Noah Kahan, Karol G and Chris Brown & Usher.
BTS also led the Global Concert Pulse chart, which ranks tours based on average revenue per show. The group earned an average of $12.7 million per concert, compared with $9.4 million for second-placed Karol G.
More records expected on ARIRANG tour
BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ world tour is scheduled to continue through the first half of next year, with additional performances planned in the Middle East and Japan.
The group will begin its South American leg on October 2 in Bogotá, Colombia. The tour will then move to Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil.
The South American leg will feature 14 shows across five cities, adding to the tour’s growing list of major attendance and revenue milestones.
