Additional Chief Secretary and IDCO Chairperson Smt. Usha Padhee conducted an extensive field inspection of the Kalibeti and Mudamba Industrial Estates in Khordha district, reviewing infrastructure progress and operational preparedness.

Accompanied by senior IDCO officials, she assessed master planning, plot allocation, land development and ongoing works, directing teams to ensure time‑bound execution, meticulous planning and regular monitoring. She emphasised resolving bottlenecks in land, utilities and supporting infrastructure to make the estates investor‑ready ecosystems.

Highlighting sustainability, Padhee instructed incorporation of rainwater harvesting and water recycling systems into core planning, stressing efficient resource management as integral to industrial growth.

She also focused on workforce mobility, particularly for women workers, directing authorities to extend “Ama Bus” public transport connectivity to the estates. “Industrial growth must be inclusive. Safe and dependable public transport, especially for women workers, is an important part of building a modern ecosystem,” she said.

The inspection reflects IDCO’s push to accelerate industrial infrastructure while integrating sustainability, workforce welfare and ease of operations. The goal is to create environmentally responsible, investor‑ready destinations that support sustained growth and employment in Odisha.
