A jewellery shop in Santoshi Vihar area of Bhubaneswar was targeted by burglars late Wednesday night, sparking concern ahead of the festive season.
The incident occurred at Bishnupriya Jewellery and Workshop, located at Plot No. 252/2116. Miscreants allegedly cut open the green shutter of the shop and entered, looting ornaments. Damage marks were visible on the shutter’s lower portion, with a motorcycle found parked nearby.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and began an investigation. Officers inspected the premises and initiated efforts to identify the culprits.
Local residents expressed anger over the theft, stressing the need for enhanced security measures at jewellery shops during festivals. The incident has created tension in the area, with police gathering further details to track down those involved.
