Bhadrak: A fire broke out at the Diesel Generator (DG) room near the COVID ward at Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on Thursday.
As per reports, the fire erupted due to an electric short-circuit in the DG room adjacent to the COVID ward at the DHH.
Fire services personnel deployed in temporary camps at the hospital premises swung into action and doused the blaze before it could spread further.
While no one was hurt in the fire mishap, the DG room suffered damages and the power supply to the COVID ward was disrupted causing inconvenience to patients.
On intimation, Bhadrak District Collector Gyana Das, and SP Charan Singh Meena immediately rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. Reportedly, the electricity department officials are on the spot to replace the cables and restore the power supply as the earliest.
