Koraput: A body of a man found under mysterious circumstances near Chhatarla village on Borigumma-Korpaut road on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sudhir Sahoo from Jagamara village under Khandagiri police station limits in Bhubaneswar. He worked as a taxi driver.
Reportedly, the matter came to fore after some locals spotted the body lying on the roadside and informed the police about the matter.
On being informed police reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem. Later, the deceased’s brother identified the body who is currently living in Rayagada.
A case has been registered at Boriguma police station and initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to available information, two persons had hired the taxi to go to Koraput on Monday and arrived at the destination the same day. Later, the family member tried to contact Sahoo. However, his phone was switched off.
With no option left, family members lodged a written complaint in Khandagiri police station, following which police launched a probe and tracked the location of the car in the Borigumma area in Koraput district.
