Cuttack: While the traffic police are intensifying vigil against violators amid lockdown, a few motorists in the city are riding their vehicles using fake registration numbers to avoid e-challans.
Reportedly, the matter came to the fore after a man from Markatnagar riding a scooty bearing registration no- OD-05-AP-18-68 got a message regarding e-challan.
Unable to understand the situation, he informed the police about his grievances along with all shreds of evidence.
Later, cops launched a probe to nab the fraudster involved in this matter suspecting it to be a nuisance created by Bike theft rackets.
Notably, a few motorists were said to be tampering the registration numbers. Consequently, the genuine vehicle users were getting the e-challans. Annoyed over the challans, the genuine vehicle owners are approaching the traffic police to resolve the issue.
